While I've never tested it, it's entirely possible that ice cream conducts electricity. If it was isolated (in a foam or non-conducting container) and builds up a charge, or if you built up a charge, you could discharge into the ice cream.

That sounded gross.

Yeah, I was kind of surprised at what builds up static electricity. For example: jet fuel. All of the fuel lines need ground straps because apparently the fuel will start to build up a static charge and the lines don't conduct electricity very well through the fittings.
